Synopsis
In the far reaches of northern Wisconsin, Anthony Martin is imprisoned in a steel cage and lowered through a hole in the ice into freezing black water. How will he escape from this outrageous, self-imposed predicament? We find out what motivates escape artists, and learn how they pull off death-defying stunts with remarkable elegance.
At a Canadian racetrack, daredevil Dean Gunnarson is chained inside a demolition car filled with explosives. Another demolition car races around the track gathering speed, then flies up a ramp and crashes into Dean's car, setting off the explosives. Dean reveals how he trains and ultimately accomplishes this wild stunt.
Above the spectacular Snake River Canyon, Idaho, Anthony Martin leaps out from a plane -with his wrists handcuffed together. Will he free himself from the handcuffs in time to pull his parachute?
Why are these two men putting themselves into these precarious situations? Is there some kind of thrill-seeking gene they both have? Retired escape artist James Randi, a.k.a. "The Amazing Randi," tells what he thinks compels escape artists to perform such dangerous stunts - with motivations that range from adrenaline addiction to artistic passion.
