Synopsis

With unprecedented access to "both" Cuba's on either side of the Florida Straits, "Cuba: A Lifetime of Passion" looks at the current reality of the Cuban Revolution, and its uncertain future. This documentary highlights present-day Cuba, its revolutionary past, and its coming transition. After four decades in power, Fidel Castro remains the central divisive figure in a decades-long struggle over what Cuba is, what the meaning of the Cuban experience ought to be, and what Cuba will become. After 45 years of passionate opposition to each other by Cubans on either side of the Florida Straits - either for or against Fidel Castro and the Cuban Revolution - this documentary presents life in Cuba before, during and after Fidel Castro. With perspectives on the ground in Cuba, within the exiled Cuban community in Miami, and with American officials in Washington, we see Cubans in the United States and Cubans in Cuba divided by a deep gulf of history and perspective; at odds as to the Cuba of the future.
