Synopsis

It's a beautiful summer day in the San Gabriel Mountains of Southern California. The high winding roads that twist between the steep granite cliffs are scattered with motorcycles and sports cars, most driving a little faster than the posted speed limit. While they test their driving skills on the paved paths, others test themselves on miles of hiking and biking trails. For outdoor enthusiasts, these mountains are paradise. But what happens when a motorcyclist hits a patch of loose sand, slides off the rocky cliff and tumbles 200 feet below? Or when a biker becomes disoriented and lost in the expansive mountain range? Only one rescue team has the training, equipment and courage to save the lives of people in danger in these treacherous mountains, and that team is Air Rescue Five.

We're going to take you along on some of the most amazing rescues you'll ever witness. We fly along with the crew of Air Rescue Five and experience first hand the drama of rappelling out of their helicopter, treating severely injured victims at treacherous accident scenes along steep mountain cliffs, and finally airlifting them to safety. We'll go on a manhunt, using the helicopter to track fugitives who have fled into the mountains. We'll feel the thrill of saving lives, and the pain of witnessing death. Most of all, we will come to know the crew that is Air Rescue Five.
