Synopsis

With thousands of police pursuits, robberies, and rescues each year, police forces have evolved to incorporate innovative aerial divisions to combat the danger.

AIR COPS is a one-hour special that examines the advanced world of airborne law enforcement form the sprawling cities of Los Angeles to San Diego to the rugged terrain of Ventura Country and the open water patrolled by the US Coast Guard. Viewers will have a first hand look at how officers make use of sophisticated technology such as night vision and infrared technology to aide ground officers in pursuits, as well as perform perilous rescues only feasible by helicopter.
